Backup/Restore

This routine is used as a Temporary Backup or Restore of DBF files used in Derek.  It is considerably quicker than a disk backup or restore, but of course, should not be counted upon as a permanent backup.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BACKUP MY DATA?

You can never have too many backups.  You can use the Auto Backup feature to make backups everyday.  The Auto Backup makes  backup to your hard disk, which is good unless your hard drive crashes.  You should have some sort of Backup Utility that allows you to make Permanent Backups to removable media.  You can purchase the Roughneck's Flash Backup, if you don't have one.  Keeping the last 3 days backed-up, is a solid idea.

1-2-3 METHOD OF BACKUPS

1-2-3 method of backing-up your data: Backup Daily - make a backup every day using the 1-2-3 method.  In other words, you will always have a backup of the last 3 days.  At the end of each day make a backup onto the Day-Before-Yesterday CD, and of course the Yesterday backup becomes Day-Before-Yesterday and today becomes yesterday.
